1About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Tygo Alferink, trading as Forward Development, based in the Netherlands (“we” or “us”). They apply when you use:

• the Forward Development Discord app (the bot)
• the Forward Development Discord server
• a Pro subscription bought through Discord
• scripts, tools and documentation we release

By using any of these, you agree to these terms. You also have to follow Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

2Who can use them

You must meet Discord’s minimum age for your country. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to buy a subscription.

If you use our work for a business or community, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

3Free releases

Scripts, tools and documentation in the free library are provided as they are. There is no guarantee they will be updated, including for new versions of the platforms they run on.

Support for free releases is best-effort, through the public channels in the Discord server.

4Pro

Pro is a monthly subscription bought through Discord. While it is active, you get:

• the Pro role in the Discord server, with access to the Pro channels
• a licence to use the escrowed Pro scripts, as set out under Licence
• early access to new releases before they are public
• updates to each Pro script for as long as we sell it
• support tickets, acknowledged within 24 hours

Acknowledged means a person has read your ticket and replied to say so. It does not mean the problem is fixed within 24 hours. The 24 hours count from when the ticket opens, weekends included.

5Payment and cancelling

Discord processes all payments. The price is shown in Discord before you pay. Your subscription renews every month until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time in your Discord settings. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds, billing questions and the EU right of withdrawal are handled by Discord under its Paid Services Terms. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer law.

If the price changes, we announce it in the Discord server at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.

6When Pro ends

When your subscription ends, for any reason:

• the Pro role and access to the Pro channels are removed
• your licences for escrowed Pro scripts are revoked, and those scripts stop working on your servers
• updates, early access and Pro support stop

Remove or replace Pro scripts on live servers before your subscription ends, so your players are not affected.

7Licence

Everything we release is licensed to you, not sold. The licence comes down to this: use it, don’t resell it. It is not open source.

You may

• use it on any number of your own servers
• change it for your own use

You may not

• sell, repackage, share or redistribute it, changed or unchanged, or present it as your own work
• remove attribution or licence files
• remove, bypass or share escrow protection or licence checks
• share Pro scripts, or anything from the Pro channels, with people who do not have Pro

For escrowed Pro scripts, the licence lasts as long as your subscription. If a script comes with its own licence file, that file adds detail for that script and wins where the two differ.

We keep all rights we do not expressly give you here.

8Using the bot and server

Do not:

• use the bot or server to break the law or Discord’s rules
• try to get Pro roles, channels or scripts without an active subscription
• overload, scrape or reverse engineer the bot
• harass other members or the people who run Forward Development

Ideas and requests you post, for example in the script requests channel, may be used by us without payment or credit.

9Breaking these terms

If you break these terms, we can warn you, remove your access to the bot, server or Pro channels, revoke your script licences, or end your subscription. We look at each case separately and choose a measure that fits what happened.

We tell you why, unless that would help someone get around the measure or would break the law. If you think we got it wrong, email legal@fwdscripts.com and we will look at it again.

If we end your subscription because you broke these terms, any refund is a matter for Discord under its own policy. We may also ask other platforms to take down copies of our work.

10Changes to what we offer

We can change, add or remove features, scripts and channels. We stop updating a Pro script when we stop selling it.

If we stop offering Pro altogether, we announce it in the Discord server at least 30 days before, and make sure you are not charged for a period we will not provide.

11Liability

We test what we release, but software can still break. Our scripts, tools and the bot are provided as they are, without a promise that they are free of errors or suit your particular use, as far as the law allows.

We are not liable for indirect loss, such as lost income, lost players or lost data on your server. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim.

These limits do not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or to anything the law does not allow us to limit.

Keep backups, and test scripts on a non-live server before using them on a live one.

12Not affiliated

Forward Development is independent. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord, Cfx.re, Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, Mojang Studios or Microsoft. Their names appear only to say what our work runs on.

13Law and disputes

Dutch law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law in your country.

If something goes wrong, email us first. Most problems can be solved that way. If not, disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless consumer law gives you the right to go to a court where you live.

14Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, the date at the top changes. Significant changes are announced in the Discord server at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using the bot, server or Pro after that, the new terms apply to you. If you do not agree, cancel before they take effect.
